Instruments and Mechanisms relating to the Right to Housing

Homelessness and housing exclusion are possibly the most extreme form of poverty. They are the denial or the absence of basic human rights, including the right to housing.

 

The right to housing is one of the most relevant socio-economic rights, that enables the enjoyment of other rights conducive to a dignified life. It has been codified in a range of international human rights instruments both at UN level and at European level.
