FEANTSA Annual Theme 2009: Participation and Homelessness - Videos

In the context of this year's Annual Theme on Participation and Homelessness, FEANTSA asked its members to submit videos or other forms of information resources on homelessness and good practices of participation from their countries. A selection of the different contributions can be accessed on this webpage.

	Belgium: Parlons-en ou cause toujours? Le débat, qu’est-ce qu’on y gagne quand on est à la rue ?, arpenteurs/Alpes Presse, 2008 (in French only) Every month, service users and social workers come together at the Relais Social Charleroi and talk about conflicts and issues that arise. This forum is called “Parlons-en” (Let’s talk about it!)
	Czech Republic: Permanent Residence Prague, Documentary by Ivo Bystrican, SAMU 2008 - Part I The video contrasts extracts from an interview with the Mayor of Prague and police interventions towards homeless people with the living experiences of rough sleepers in Prague.
	Czech Republic: Permanent Residence Prague, Documentary by Ivo Bystrican, SAMU 2008 - Part II The video contrasts extracts from an interview with the Mayor of Prague and police interventions towards homeless people with the living experiences of rough sleepers in Prague.
	Denmark: The work of SAND, 2009 The video is from and about SAND, the Danish national service user organisation. The video presents this year’s project days, an example of directly involving the users on a political level in relation to the national homelessness strategy, and the Council for socially marginalised people. It also includes interviews with members and their views on SAND and the future of the organisation.
	FEANTSA Video: Interviews with EU decision makers, 2009  Four service users from the Relais Social Charleroi in Belgium conducted interviews with three European decision makers for FEANTSA. They talked about the role of the EU in combating homelessness, participation of service users and the experience of homelessness. This video brings together extracts from the interviews with Philippe Courard, State Secretary for Social Integration and the Fight against Poverty, Belgium, Isabelle Durant, Member and Vice President of the European Parliament and Jérôme Vignon, European Commission.
	Finland: National contribution FEANTSA's Annual Theme 2009 The Finnish video is about the participation of homeless people in an experience research education programme. The participants talk about their views and experiences with the programme.
	Germany: An der Basis (Touching Base), Film by Rebekka Müller and Hans Lübke, 2009. The video shows extracts of interviews with service users in the St. Ursulaheim (a hostel for homeless people) in Offenburg, Germany.
	Greece: Cartoon Exhibition on Homelessness from the GALERA Magazine (Power Point Presentation)
	Hungary: AHA drama group, 2009 This video is about the AHA Drama Group, the only homeless theatre in Hungary. The video presents the life and achievements of the group and the thoughts of its members. In addition to the interviews, you can see some amateur video recordings made earlier.
	Ireland : Focus Ireland Customer Participation. The video is about service user involvement in Focus Ireland services.
	Ireland: Creating Simon Voices - Simon Communities of Ireland (Power Point Presentation) Simon Voices is a newsletter for and by the users of Simon Services in Ireland.
	Lithuania: Participation of homeless people in Lithuania, Caritas Vilnius, 2009 The video shows the homeless services of Caritas Vilnius. Only simple forms of participation exist so far.

	Portugal: A more close look, 2009  This is the story of Joe, a formerly homeless person, who was able to overcome his drug addiction and find a job and housing with the support of homeless services in Lisbon.
	Spain: The Road to Participation - Part I, 2009 The video is a collection of different participation experiences from FEANTSA members in Spain.

	UK: Thames Reach - Grow project This video is about Thames Reach's experience with employing people with experience of homelessness and service use in homelessness services.
	UK (Scotland): The Comments Box, Glasgow Homelessness Network, 2009 The video presents the “comments box “ as a  tool for participation in homeless services.
